DUNAMIS HEALTHCARE ACADEMY COURSES
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
Certified nursing assistants, or CNAs, assist nurses and other medical staff by providing direct personal care for patients. This entry-level position is quite demanding and is best suited for someone who genuinely cares for others’ well-being.
Test Prep For State Exam
Students will engage in comprehensive review sessions covering key concepts, medical terminology, and practical skills to ensure their success. We enable students to build confidence and excel in their preparations for the rigorous state examination.
Certified Medication Tech
Through hands-on practical experience and expert instruction at Dunamis Health Care Academy, students will gain a deep understanding of medication administration, dosage calculations, and medication safety protocols.
Employment Opportunities
Successful completion of training programs along with obtaining state certification, prepares students for employment in a variety of medical facilities.
Nursing Homes
Some of the basic tasks a CNA might do are changing bed sheets, bathe patients, change bedpans, feed patients, walk the patient, help with personal hygiene, grooming, transport patients, I&O, vital signs, assist with discharge and admissions, documentation. You are under direct supervision of LPN or RN and assist with different tasks as needed.
Personal Care Home/Assisted Living Homes
Duties are similar to nursing homes except it is done in a home setting with less residents. In personal care setting clients are more independent with self care.
Private Home Care/Home Health Care
An in-home nursing assistant becomes a reliable, familiar presence for the client and their family, providing care and emotional support while monitoring clients for the healthcare team. Nursing assistants oversee safety precautions and help their clients with personal and household tasks they cannot do for themselves. In many cases, a nurse aide can drive clients to appointments and accompany them on errands.
Hospitals
Nursing assistants are responsible for taking vital signs, physically attending to patients, grooming, and ADL’s if they are physically incapable to do so themselves. Keeping patients’ rooms clean and orderly, bringing patients their meals and monitoring Intake and Output. They also assist with answering patients’ calls and assist with certain medical procedures. One of the most important assignments is documentation and alerting the nurse or doctor if something seems amiss.
Hospice Care
The CNA as part of the hospice or palliative care team, is crucial. Under the supervision of a RN, CNAs provide daily care to enhance a patient’s daily life, wellness and dignity which include basic tasks. CNAs not only provide physical help for daily tasks, but they are also in a position to provide emotional support. Hospice and Palliative care patients sometimes fear being alone. While CNAs are frequently nearby, helping with personal and intimate tasks, their close proximity makes them available to listen and care.
